Following the directives from National council for higher Education as well as the Ministry of health Uganda in a bid to cub the spread of Covid-19 in the Country, continuing students from various Universities are directed to study online under Online open distance E-Learning (ODeL) until further notice as the country fights harder to get the vaccine.
On the other hand, Makerere Universal Vice chancellor, Prof. Baranabas Nawangwe has also guided the continuing students, Freshers as well as the finalist on the University programs as the new semester open by February 2021.
“Gallant Makerereans! I salute you and congratulate you on keeping yourselves safe from COVID-19. Please observe all the SOPs and remain alive, Uganda needs you alive.
Following the Government directive, we are making arrangements to receive finalists as planned on 6th February 2021. The rest of the students will continue studying online. Freshers will register and receive non-residential orientation beginning Monday 1st February. Please stay tuned for further instructions,” Nawangwe said.
According to Nawangwe, only finalists will report to campus starting on the 6th February and freshers will register and receive non-residential orientation beginning on Monday 1st-February 2021 while the rest of the students will continue studying online.
