Results from COVID-19 tests done on 15 August 2020 confirms 66 new COVID-19 cases. The cumulative total confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 1,500

Of these cases, 53 alerts are as below;
– 30 from Kampala
– 6 from Namisindwa
– 7 from Wakiso
– 10 from Tororo, Moroto, Katakwi, Buikwe, Bukwo, Bundibugyo, Mbale, Isingiro, Hoima and Buliisa

Eleven (11) are contacts to previously confirmed cases of which 9 are from Kampala and 2 are from Namisindwa and Nakaseke

The other 2 are returnees of which 1 is from Ethiopia and 1 from Oman

On the other hand, 16 foreign truck drivers who were tested positive for COVID-19 at the border points of entry  were not permitted into the country.

The total Ugandan recoveries now stands at 1,142, Samples from Points of Entry tested On Sunday 16th August 2020 are 1,868 and the samples from alerts and contacts are 2,948, the total samples tested were 4,816.
